Viewing POCs

Welcome! As a customer, you've been invited to participate in a Proof of Concept (POC) engagement. This guide will help you understand how to view and navigate your POC.

Getting Started

Your Invitation

You received an email invitation containing:

  • POC name and description
  • Details about the engagement
  • A unique access link
  • Instructions to get started

First-Time Access

  1. Click the link in your invitation email
  2. If you don't have an account:
  3. You'll be prompted to create a password
  4. Fill in your profile information
  5. Click Create Account
  6. If you already have an account:
  7. Log in with your credentials
  8. You'll be taken directly to your POC

After logging in, you'll see all POCs you're participating in:

POC Overview

Click on a POC to see the overview:

  • Name and Description: What this POC is about
  • Timeline: Start and end dates
  • Progress: Overall completion status
  • Success Criteria: Goals and objectives
  • Your Contact: Sales Engineer managing the POC
  • Tasks: List of activities and deliverables

Understanding POC Information

POC Details

Key information you'll see:

Name Title of the POC
Description Goals and objectives
Start Date When the POC began
End Date Target completion date
Status Active, Completed, or On Hold
Progress Percentage complete
Success Criteria What defines success

Your Role

As a customer, you can:

  • ✅ View all POC details
  • ✅ See all tasks and their status
  • ✅ Read task descriptions and resources
  • ✅ Add comments and feedback
  • ✅ Mark tasks as complete (from your perspective)
  • ✅ View progress and timelines
  • ✅ Generate reports
  • ❌ Cannot edit POC structure
  • ❌ Cannot create or delete tasks
  • ❌ Cannot see internal team comments

Viewing Tasks

Task List

Tasks are the building blocks of the POC:

Task Status

Tasks have different statuses:

  • Completed: Task is finished
  • In Progress: Currently being worked on
  • 📋 Not Started: Hasn't begun yet
  • 🚫 Blocked: Waiting on something

Task Details

Click on any task to view:

  • Name and Description: What the task involves
  • Status: Current state
  • Assigned To: Who is responsible
  • Resources: Documentation, links, code samples
  • Comments: Discussion and feedback
  • Your Input: Area to add your comments

Resources

What are Resources?

Resources provide helpful information for tasks:

  • 🔗 Links: Documentation, guides, videos
  • 💻 Code: Sample code and configurations
  • 📝 Text: Instructions and explanations
  • 📄 Files: Documents and diagrams

Accessing Resources

  1. Open a task
  2. Scroll to the Resources section
  3. Click on any resource to view it:
  4. Links open in new tab
  5. Code displays with syntax highlighting
  6. Text shows formatted content
  7. Files can be downloaded

Resources help you: - Understand what needs to be done - Learn about the product or service - Complete assigned activities - Answer questions you might have

  • Dashboard: Overview of all your POCs
  • POCs: List of POC engagements
  • Profile: Your account settings

POC Navigation

Within a POC:

  • Overview: POC summary and progress
  • Tasks: Detailed task list
  • Resources: All POC resources (if available)
  • Comments: Discussion threads
  • Reports: Generate documents

Use breadcrumbs to navigate back:

Filters and Views

Filtering Tasks

Filter tasks by:

  • Status: Show only In Progress, Completed, etc.
  • Assigned To: Your tasks vs team tasks
  • Task Group: View specific phases

Sorting Tasks

Sort tasks by:

  • Order: Default logical order
  • Status: Group by completion state
  • Date: By due date or creation date

View Options

Choose your preferred view:

  • List View: Detailed task list
  • Kanban View: Visual board by status
  • Timeline View: Calendar-based view

Searching Tasks

Use the search box to find:

  • Task names
  • Task descriptions
  • Resource titles
  • Comments

Search Tips

  • Use specific keywords
  • Search is case-insensitive
  • Results highlight matches
  • Clear search to see all tasks

Progress Tracking

Visual Progress

Track completion visually:

Q: Can I edit task information?
A: No, only the POC team can edit tasks. You can add comments and mark tasks complete.

Q: Why can't I see some comments?
A: Internal team comments are not visible to customers for team coordination.

Q: Can I add other people from my team?
A: No, ask your Sales Engineer to send them an invitation.

Q: How do I know if I need to take action?
A: Tasks assigned to you or marked "Needs Customer Input" require your attention.

Q: Can I download the POC information?
A: Yes, you can generate reports in PDF or Markdown format.

Q: What happens after the POC ends?
A: You'll retain read-only access to the POC for reference.
